Alfred Vargas recently renewed his contract with GMA7. This assures his fans that the bronze-skinned hunk is going to remain a Kapuso for another two years. Among the projects lined up for him is his new daytime soap entitled “Una Kang Naging Akin” - a television remake of the 1991 Gabby Concepcion-Sharon Cuneta movie of the same name.

If the Gabby-Sharon starrer would be faithfully remade, the television series would have this plot: A rich businessman who is engaged to be married to his longtime girlfriend encounters a helicopter crash which suddenly changes his life. He survives the crash but this event would cause him to suffer from amnesia. While in this state, fate would lead him to fall for another woman. And this complicates the whole situation. The other woman falls madly in love with him despite knowing the consequences that could arise from his man’s predicament. Her worst fears come true when she least expected it. Will she fight for the man whom she has loved with all her heart? Or will she set aside her feelings for the happiness of the fiancee who had him first?

Sine Novela Presents: Una Kang Naging Akin will be replacing Magdusa Ka in GMA7’s early afternoon block, Drama-Rama Sa Hapon.

However, in the soap, Alfred won’t play the male lead. GMA7 entrusted the role played by Gabby Concepcion in the movie to Wendell Ramos. Despite this, Alfred’s role as a marine biologist named Ronnie is still a significant addition to the plot. The television series would reunite Alfred with her erstwhile girlfriend LJ Reyes.

People behind E! Entertainment Television of the US recently contacted the manager of Dingdong Dantes, Perry Lansingan, signifying their intention to include the Kapuso star in their annual list of the 25 Sexiest Men of the World. They came to know about Dingdong when they saw the latter’s tv commercial for Ibuprofen Medicol of United Laboratories.

E! and Lansingan then exchanged correspondences where the Dingdong’s manager gave the entertainment network a background on the latest Bench model’s career in the Philippines. The president of E! Entertainment gave his final seal of approval to include Dingdong in the list. A letter requesting for photos and footages of Dingdong’s movie, television and ramp (especially those of Cosmopolitan Magazine’s Bachelor Bash 2007 and Experience: Blackout) appearances has already been sent by E! for their inclusion in the production of the show.

In an interview, Dingdong said that he did not see this coming and is very thankful for the recognition. He said that he really loves his craft and that is probably one of the reasons why it loves him back and showers him with blessings.

Also included in the list of the 25 Sexiest Men of the World are: Gilles Marini of France - actor; Kostas Martakhs of Greece - singer; Michael Lewis of Israel - actor/model; Dan Carter of New Zealand - rugby player and David Beckham of UK - soccer player, among others. The show will be aired sometime in the 3rd of 4th quarter of the year. This will be the first time that a Filipino man will make it to the list. Kudos to Dingdong!

Sometime last week, Logic Clothing Co., an up and coming fashion brand which features uniquely-designed tops for men, launched a search for its newest image model. The new face of Logic should have a fun, fresh and frisky attitude to best represent the brand. It invited goodlooking young men 5′9″ in height or taller who possessed well-proportioned bodies to send in their best photographs for an email-based screening. Those who made it through the first cut were again invited for a go-see which was held last Tuesday. From among these models were chosen 10 finalists who stood out from the rest of the pack. The 10 were scheduled for a photoshoot with photographer Ash Castro.

The finals night of the image model search coincided with Logic Clothing’s mini-fashion show at Bed Bar Malate which was held last Friday. And no other than recently featured hunk Glenn del Rosario bested the 9 other finalists to be the next face of Logic Clothing. Expect to see Glenn’s face in succeeding ads for the said brand.

Steve Rojas is a 31-year old pharmacist from Quezon City. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from University of Santo Tomas (UST) then went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the same university. He is also a holder of a Master of Business Administration degree which he obtained from De La Salle University - Manila (DLSU - Manila).

In 2002, while still in UST, he joined Mr. UST (the same contest joined by actor/model Richard Somes) where he represented the College of Pharmacy. Immediately after his stint in the pageant, he was included in Hang Ten’s campus crushes campaign print ad. He has appeared in several print ads after that.

Recently, he has appeared in print ads for Nissan Patrol, Luntala Verde real estate and Las Haciendas. He has also graced the pages of Libre (the sister tabloid of Philippine Daily Inquirer) as a Weather Hunk. His most recent appearance on print is for the Ayala Malls Fathers’ Day print ad which was published at the Philippine Star.

At present, Steve is working at a Pharmaceutical company based in Makati City as one of its brand managers. He only gets to pursue modeling work on his free time.
